About Me

Bio

I was born and raised in Worcester, Massachusetts. Fun fact: Worcester is also the home town of Harvey Ball--inventer of the smiley face. I live here with my fiance, my 2 step-children, and our dog Luna. Currently, I work full time for the Worcester Public Schools. I am an educator who enjoys sharing art with all my students! When I am not working, I love playing the guitar (blues, rock, country, and everything in between) and exercising (I have a 4th degree black belt in Taekwondo).

Although I do it part time, Graphic design is my passion. I graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design and Media Arts in 2021. I maintained a 4.0 GPA and received the Distinguished Scholar award for being the top student in my program. I belong to 3 honors societies including The National Society of Leadership and Success, Alpha Sigma Lambda, and Psi Chi (Psychology).

From an early age, I had a passion for the visual arts, especially drawing. This was inspired by my love of comic books and animation. I gravitated toward graphite and, to this day, like to sketch in pencil. I have also dabbled in mixed media such as colored pencil, permanent marker, and water color pencil. However, I do my best work digitally. I use industry standard software such as like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to give my images the sharp cutting edge clarity programs like this provide.

Experience

Despite being a recent graduate, I have quite a bit of real-world designing experience. This comes mainly in the form of logo design. I have created content for small businesses such as Copper Beech Handmade, Hanmi Taekwondo, Artigiano Legno, and many others. I also worked as an illustrator on a children's book called "Chicken Monkey to the Rescue" which was written and self-published by my brother, Nick Paldino. The book was well received and won an award for Best Children's Picture book from the Texas Author's Association.
